In the Chamber
"In the Chamber", 2008.
This was my first sincere attempt at a self-portrait. I took this in 2008 which is also when I began experimenting with creating images which were more like paintings than photos. Since 2005, I had been very much a strict black and white - sepia photographer. No editing. What the camera captured is what I printed with the exception of cropping and contrast adjustments. But 2008 began a year of experimentation when I began to make what I feel is art. This was the year I began creating concepts beforehand, planning and plotting and then with the help of editing software began creating a world of my own.
